Interview conducted by Brandon Suggs of Live Life Half Price.

At the Sheen Magazine Awards 2026, Big Lez reflects on the work that brings her to the stage and the recognition she receives from the event. In an interview with Brandon Suggs, she speaks about her career as a dancer, choreographer, radio personality and actor, and shares what she is working toward next.

The conversation moves from gratitude for the people who recognize behind-the-scenes work to new plans in directing and acting. Big Lez also names two films viewers can see: Searching for Bay and Papermate. Some readers may recognize her from the intro to Living Single.

Big Lez on recognition and the work behind the scenes

Brandon Suggs: “All right, this is Brandon. We are here at the Sheen Awards 2026 with Big Lez. Now, celebrating 20 years, you created a legacy for yourself. How does it feel to be remembered for all the work you've done over the years?”

Big Lez: “It's been a blessing, and I love that you called me Big Legs because people always say that thick thighs save lives. You know, they don't ever expect that these dancers with thick thighs can be gymnast stuff, too.

“But I'm just grateful that Sheen Magazine has invited me to the party, giving a dancer and a choreographer and a radio personality and an actor so much love, because some of us who work behind the scenes don't get the love that we deserve. But Sheen Magazine said, ‘Come on, Les.’ And so I'm thankful and I'm grateful.”

Her answer pairs a playful joke with a clear point about recognition. Big Lez names several parts of her work, including dance, choreography, radio and acting. She also gives credit to Sheen Magazine for welcoming her and showing appreciation for people whose work often happens outside the spotlight.

The response sets the tone for the interview. Big Lez expresses gratitude for the invitation while emphasizing that behind-the-scenes contributors deserve to be seen and valued. Her words connect her personal experience to a broader part of entertainment work: many people help shape what audiences see, even when they are not always the focus.

Moving into directing and returning to acting

Brandon Suggs: “So what's next for you?”

Big Lez: “Well, I'm moving into directing. So I'm working on a dance documentary. And I stepped back into acting. So I shot three films this year. Two that you can see. Searching for Bay, directed by Dana Hubbard, and Malik Yoba is one of the executive producers, as well as Papermate. Shout out to Ryan Watson, the director, who gave me a call. I got a little cameo with that, and Michael J. White is in it.”

Big Lez describes two directions for her next chapter. She is working on a dance documentary as she moves into directing, and she has returned to acting. She says she shot three films this year, with two available for viewers to see.

She identifies Searching for Bay as directed by Dana Hubbard, with Malik Yoba among its executive producers. She also names Papermate, thanking director Ryan Watson for reaching out and noting her cameo and Michael J. White’s involvement. The details come from Big Lez’s interview, where she shares the projects in her own words.

The answer keeps the focus on both creative work and opportunity. Directing gives her a new area to develop, while acting brings her back to film projects. Her mention of a dance documentary also connects her next steps with the dance background she describes earlier in the conversation.

A conversation about visibility and what comes next

The interview is brief, but it brings together two themes in Big Lez’s remarks: appreciation for recognition and continued creative work. She is thankful to be invited to the Sheen Magazine Awards, and she points to the value of acknowledging people who contribute behind the scenes.

She also speaks about her plans in a practical, forward-looking way. A dance documentary is in progress, and she shares the titles of two films audiences can watch. Her answer gives viewers a direct update on where her work is heading without losing the light, personal tone of the exchange.

For Atlanta entertainment news audiences, the conversation offers a moment to hear Big Lez discuss her work and plans directly. Her comments center on the value of being recognized and the opportunities she is pursuing across directing and acting.

Brandon Suggs: “So thank you so much for your time. It's good seeing you.”

Big Lez: “Thank you.”
