Jittery Joe’s Coffee and Goose are bringing two parts of Georgia’s creative culture together with a limited-edition coffee release. The Athens-based roaster and the American rock band announced “What A Day To Be Livin’” on October 15, according to a press release.

The new coffee joins Jittery Joe’s Music Coffee Series, a collection of collaborations connected to Athens music and culture. Goose has a Georgia connection of its own: the band made its Athens debut at the Georgia Theatre in 2023.

The collaboration also offers an Atlanta tie. Jittery Joe’s recently worked with the Fox Theatre on its Blue Sky Blend, a custom roast that supports the venue’s philanthropic arm, Fox Gives.

A medium roast tied to a Goose song

“What A Day To Be Livin’” is a medium roast made with beans from Guatemala and Brazil, the release states. Its name comes from “The Empress of Organos,” a song on Goose’s 2025 album Chain Yer Dragon.

The release describes the coffee’s tasting notes as praline with a touch of citrus-orange sweetness, followed by a lingering sweetness as it cools. Those notes come from the company’s announcement, not from an independent tasting by Atlanta Wave TV.

Goose recently released its sixth studio album, BIG MODERN!, according to the same announcement. The new coffee collaboration connects the band’s current music to a song from its previous album.

GUMBO Design Co. creates the can artwork

The release says Goose tapped GUMBO Design Co. to create the can design. The artwork features the empress offering a hot cup of coffee, with steam rising above it to spell G-O-O-S-E.

The design gives the product a visual connection to its musical inspiration. The press release describes colorful can designs as a longstanding part of the Jittery Joe’s brand and says the new artwork reflects Goose’s identity.

The product is being offered in limited quantities. The release says it is available starting October 15 through Jittery Joe’s online store and at all Jittery Joe’s cafes. It does not state how many cans are being produced.

A new entry in the Music Coffee Series

The Goose collaboration joins a series that has included Widespread Panic, Drive-By Truckers, Jason Isbell, Kishi Bashi and Monsoon. The press release says more collaborations are planned for next year.

The series is rooted in Athens’ music culture. Jittery Joe’s describes its Music Coffee Series as a celebration of the artists and bands connected to the Classic City. Goose’s 2023 appearance at Georgia Theatre provides a local point of connection for the latest release.

The collaboration also reflects a broader relationship between music and local businesses. A band and a coffee company can use a shared place, song or creative idea to connect with audiences in a different format. Here, a track title inspires the coffee name, while the can design draws on imagery created for the partnership.

Jittery Joe’s history in Athens

Jittery Joe’s opened beside Athens’ 40 Watt Club in 1994, according to the press release. The company has since grown from a coffeehouse into a retail and wholesale business with cafes across Georgia.

The company says it roasts coffee to order at its Athens facility, using beans sourced from producers around the world. The release also says Jittery Joe’s recently received recognition as one of Newsweek’s Best Premium Coffee Brands of 2026.

The Athens roots provide the setting for the company’s music partnerships. Its lineup includes collaborations with artists and groups whose work is part of the region’s wider musical identity. The new release with Goose adds another name to that roster.

The Atlanta connection: Fox Theatre Blue Sky Blend

Although the Goose collaboration is centered on an Athens-based company and a band with a Georgia performance history, Jittery Joe’s also has a direct connection to Atlanta. Its custom roast with the Fox Theatre is called the Fox Theatre Blue Sky Blend.

The press release says proceeds from that blend go to Fox Gives, the Fox Theatre’s philanthropic arm. Jittery Joe’s official product information describes the coffee as a joint project with the Atlanta venue, with a portion of each can’s sale benefiting Fox Gives.

The Fox Theatre partnership highlights another way a Georgia business collaboration can extend beyond a product. In this case, the coffee supports the venue’s charitable work, while the Goose release places music at the center of a limited-edition offering.

Where to find the release

“What A Day To Be Livin’” is available beginning October 15 in limited quantities, according to the announcement. The stated sales channels are jitteryjoes.com and all Jittery Joe’s cafes. The company also shares updates on Instagram at @jitteryjoescoffee.

For readers following Georgia entertainment news, the announcement is a small but notable example of artists and local businesses finding new ways to connect. The release brings Goose’s music into the company’s Athens-focused coffee series, while Jittery Joe’s existing Fox Theatre collaboration links its work to Atlanta.
